TL;DR Summary of the AI Litepaper
The AI Litepaper explores the potential to deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) on POKT Network
Over the last week (10/07 to 10/13), the Pocket Network protocol has successfully relayed over 293.2M application requests and settled at 6,601 nodes.
Welcome to the second weekly relay recap of October! This week’s update includes a new network heartbeat update, monthly community call recap, blockchain whitelistings and various news items. It’s exciting to mention that, yet again, the network has grown compared to last week!
The number of total relays is up another ~21.5% compared to last week. This week, Pocket Network processed over 293M total relays. Note that the number of daily relays went down on avg. throughout the last couple of days of the week (primarily because the latest Dark Forest lighting round ended), so it’s going to be interesting to see what the numbers look like in our next WRR.The above chart shows the decent uptrend we’ve seen throughout these past 90 days. The avg. of ~10M daily average relays in the beginning of this 90 day graph now looks very small compared to the current ~30M+ avg. daily relays.
The pie chart below shows the distribution of all POKT (rewards) minted this past week.
POKTscan clearly shows that FUSE drove the majority of the relays this past week. Followed by the Ethereum Network and xDAI. Other blockchains drive a much lower number of relays on average for the time being. However, we’ve seen that only a few applications on a blockchain could shake things up incredibly.
* Green: Ethereum Network, purple: FUSE, light green: xDAI.
Monthly Community CallThe recap for our most recent monthly community call is now live!Missed the call? No problem. Check out the recap below:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BttuFGOkxU0A range of topics was discussed, if there’s any topic you’d like to see discussed during the next community call, please contact @Jackal on Discord. The agenda for this call was:
A new week means new blockchain whitelisting opportunities! As communicated last week, Solana is now supported by the decentralized and rock-solid Pocket infrastructure! See: https://bit.ly/POKTsupportsSOLWe are now making preparations to whitelist the IoTex Mainnet (0044). It is expected this is done within about ~1 week (~19 October).Pocket is also proud to announce support for Harmony Shard 0 support, with Archival support coming in the next few weeks! Harmony does around 100M API calls daily, meaning there’s loads of potential for Pocket node runners here! The official announcement can be read here.DO NOT add the RelayChainIDs to your pocket node stake until you have ensured your nodes are working correctly, otherwise your Pocket node will be slashed. If you need any support, please join us on Discord in the #node-runner channel.GovernanceWith Pocket now supporting Harmony, a new governance proposal is being discussed on the forums.Jacksteroo published ‘PEP-12: Harmony One Token Swap’ on the forum three days ago, and is up for discussion. The proposal reads: ‘’We propose to shift Harmony’s RPC network traffic into Pocket Network’s ecosystem of up to 5,000 node runners as one of the first initiatives towards a decentralized RPC service. To do this, Harmony and Pocket Network will perform a token swap that will result in ONE tokens owned by the Pocket DAO (managed by the Pocket Foundation) and POKT tokens owned and managed by the Harmony Foundation with a responsibility to transfer the ownership to one of Harmony’s upcoming Developer DAO (or equivalent) when this DAO is established and ready to manage the tokens.’’The budget asked for this proposal is 170k POKT for 235k ONE tokens.Read more and discuss at: https://forum.pokt.network/t/pep-12-harmony-one-token-swap/1151
Pocket partners with Harmony, together as ONE!It may already be clear by now, but Pocket Network is proud to announce the partnership with Harmony! The high number of daily transactions on their network are a perfect fit for our node runners.Harmony Shard 0 is now supported by our global network of RPC node runners, with Archival coming in a few weeks.Watch the short introduction video below to fully understand why we’re so excited about this partnership:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK76i_r_CvIDAO Global HackathonPocket Network is proud to be one of the co-organisers of the DAO Global Hackathon! With over 200 participants signed-up and the Hackothon kicking off in 10 days, it’s bound to be a hell of an event! The Hackathon runs from October 25th to December 13th.Over $100k in prizes are made available for this Hackathon, and attending is free of charge (virtual event)! Resolve technical limitations of the existing DAO tooling (Hackathon Part 1) and be free to build the next frontier of coordination primitives (Hackathon Part 2).Interested in learning more or signing up? See: https://gitcoin.co/hackathon/dao-global/onboardWhat can you do to drive relays and add nodes to the network?Apps and App users. If you care about privacy and decentralization, replace the default network provider in your MetaMask wallet with actual decentralized node infrastructure by adding a Pocket-powered RPC endpoints for Ethereum, Avalanche, xDAI, Fuse, and/or Polygon through the custom rpc settings!Try out any of these other apps listed in the Conscious Dappitalism page within our new docs .You can also earn a skill-role in our Discord community server for dogfooding any of those applications by completing a quest within the POKT arcade.NodesDon’t know how to run a node? Check out the Node Runner docs above to learn how.Try out Node Pilot, it’s the most user-friendly option to spin up both base layer blockchain nodes and Pocket nodes. If you run into any issues, a community of node runners (and our support team) would be happy to help. If you’d prefer to not run a node yourself, check out the forum for a list of node providers offering their services to people interested in participating in the ecosystem.
When you are ready to take the step forward in supporting decentralized node infrastructure and earning Pocket’s native cryptocurrency for serving apps then visit any of these community-established OTCs:https://forum.pokt.network/t/secondary-markets-for-pokt/629They are the best way to buy or sell POKT; and it helps nodes cover the cost of their infrastructure. Join either private telegram channels (requires telegram) and message the admin to get started. Note that there are fees associated with the OTCs to help cover their costs and that neither Pocket Network, Inc., the Pocket DAO, nor the Pocket Foundation receives any of these fees nor any proceeds from the sale of POKT through the OTCs.
