Transcript - How to Mint Free RPC Endpoints with Pocket Network

If you are a dApp developer, and love FREE stuff, this is the video for you!

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to set up endpoints to connect your dApp to one or many of the blockchains supported by Pocket Network.  It is quick, easy…and best of all…costs you nothing!

But first….Why Pocket Network?

Pocket Network Info

Pocket Network’s architecture is based on a decentralized system of over 20k optimized nodes that provide a more secure, reliable, and cost-effective experience with extremely low latency.

Furthermore, Pocket Network enables developers to maintain complete control over their applications, data, and transactions without relying on a third-party service.

Too good to be true?  Why not try it out for yourself?

Minting an RPC Endpoint

Minting your endpoints is easy, and only takes a couple of minutes.

First. Go to the Pocket Portal website.

You’ll need to create an account, so click on the icon in the upper right corner and enter your information.

Next, Click on the "Create New Application" button.

You’ll need to name your app.  Without a name, you won’t be able to mint your endpoints.

Next, you’ll see that you have two payment options.

Pay As You Go

Option 1 is a pay-as-you-go. As you can see, you get up to 250k free relays per day, per app.  You only pay when your relay count goes beyond that.

But how much?  I’m glad you asked.

At the bottom of the page, they’ve included an estimated cost calculator.

All you do is type in any number of relays and it will kick out an estimated cost per month.

But that’s probably not why you are here.  I got you hooked with the promise of something free.

Well, here it is.

Free RPC Endpoints

The free endpoint option allows you to run your app free up to 250k relays per day and connect to all the supported chains.

Congratulations, you’ve created your endpoint.

In your app dashboard, you can select which chains you want to connect to with a simple dropdown menu by clicking the “Add New +” button.  This will generate your endpoint URL for the chain.

All the information you need is right here, and easy to find.

If sometime down the line you realize you need more relays… you can simply upgrade by clicking here.

Wrapping Up

There you have it.  You are now ready to connect your dApp to the only reliable and decentralized RPC network in the world.

Be sure to join Pocket Network’s Discord channel for additional information, support, important announcements, or to sit back and chat with some really interesting people.
